AWS deprecation policy
Each Bedrock model is Active, Legacy or End-of-Life (EOL). Models launched on or after September 7, 2026 follow the model card, which gives an EOL no sooner than date and a Legacy notice period of either 6 months or 45 days. Models launched before that date stay on Bedrock for at least 12 months and spend at least 6 months in Legacy; for EOL dates after February 1, 2026, a public extended access phase with possibly higher provider-set pricing starts at least 3 months into Legacy. During Legacy, new customers cannot adopt the model, existing customers may lose access after 15 days of inactivity, and no new Provisioned Throughput can be created. After the EOL date the model is removed from the listed Regions and requests fail unless the customer has a private arrangement with the provider. Migration is not automatic, and Bedrock dates can differ from the model provider's own dates.
