xAI has no dedicated deprecations page or written general notice-period policy; retirements are announced through Migration Guides and Release Notes on docs.x.ai (the November 2 guide states a 60-day notice period beginning September 2, 2026). After a retirement date, requests to retired slugs do not fail: the slugs keep resolving and are automatically redirected to a named replacement model, billed at the replacement model's pricing.
