RAG & Retrieval
A way to train generative models by learning a vector field that carries samples from simple noise to real data along a chosen probability path.
A way to train generative models by learning a vector field that carries samples from simple noise to real data along a chosen probability path. To generate, you integrate that field with an ODE solver. Lipman et al. introduced it in 2022: training needs no simulation, diffusion becomes one special case of path, and straight optimal-transport paths trained and sampled faster than diffusion paths. Many recent image, video and audio generators are trained with flow matching or the closely related rectified flow.

The feed-forward network is the per-token block in every transformer layer that follows attention: two linear projections with a nonlinearity between them, applied to each position independently.
ALiBi (Attention with Linear Biases) is a way to give a transformer position information by penalizing attention scores in proportion to the distance between query and key, instead of adding positional embeddings to the token embeddings.
