streamline bug reporting and resolution Jam is designed to help development teams handle software issues making the process more efficient and developer friendly in this video I'm going to be walking you through their platform and in particular I'm going to be showing you their brand new AI features that make it even easier than ever to write bug reports and reproduction steps without further Ado let's get started the first thing that you can do is you can go ahead and click this get Jam for free button now the way that this works is it is an extension within your browser once you've logged in and have the Chrome extension installed this is going to be the interface where you can access all of the different recordings that you have I'm going to dive into this aspect in just a little bit but before I do that I want to show you their latest features within this I have a number of different issues within all of these tabs to show you what Jam can do first I want to demonstrate just this simple page that will throw an error here we're trying to make a fetch request and we can see across the screen we have all of this red text without even pressing record or doing anything to deliberately try and track the bug the great thing is as soon as you click the Chrome extension icon you can go ahead and click this instant replay button and within here you'll be able to see a recording of the error here we even have the error that was indicated on the page here like you see within the timeline I'm just going to select the area within the timeline that I want to focus on what's great with this is without me having to do anything it's already detecting the errors on API data fetch I can go ahead I can click tab from there I can click tab again and it will give you all of the steps that you can hand off to someone to try and reproduce the bug so next what you can do is you can go ahead and put this within a folder you can also add attachments if You' like and what I can do from here is I can go and create and copy the link you can actually take this link and I'll demonstrate with an incognito browser now why this is important is you don't need an account to log in to be able to see the reproduction steps in my experience I've used a number of these tools in the past and just having that friction of having to log into different sites and platforms to see different bugs it can be quite timec consuming and tedious if I could just have something that has the visibility of everything that I need like this it just honestly makes it much much easier just to break down quickly what's within this page here you can go ahead and you can replay the error so we can see exactly what happened and how to reproduce it visually and additionally we have the breakdown that the AI had generated for us so we have cores eror on AP data Fetch and we have all of the different reproduction steps navigate to the Network's eror page click on the close button click on the fetch API data button see the cores error you can go ahead and reply to comments here within here we can see a ton of information we can see the network requests if there are any we can see any actions that were taken here we can see the particular Dom element that was clicked and additionally you can include backend Integrations directly within this if you have one of the team plans you will be able to include Sentry into your application where you'll be able to have all of this bug tracking and reproduction steps at your fingertips finally there is also this AI debug feature within here it says unfortunately I can only chat with logged in users let's go ahead and hop back to our logged in account and we can debug this with AI was asking would you like me to analyze this Jam for fixes and other recommendations you can click absolutely and what it's going to do is it's actually going to try and give you information on how you can solve this bug the bug is related to cores cross origin resource sharing policy here are some pointers to fix it ensure the server is at API Etc so on and so forth so as you can imagine this combines the Practical steps of that hard information that you need whether it's Network requests console logs the activity the video but it also enhances all of that with these new very powerful AI features that both make it easier to write these reproduction reports all within one platform additionally what's great is you can also send these bugs to a ton of different integration so there's jira GitHub notion gitlab Assa Azure devops linear as well as clickup regardless of what you're using to track your bugs you'll be able to also send all of this information directly within the Integrations that you've selected now I want to dive into some other features within Jam within here you can capture a screenshot where you can select the area that you want to highlight there are also a number of helpful key bindings built in where you can go ahead and quickly capture these things as well say if you want to capture hover states there is that option where you can take a screenshot now or after 3 seconds or 6 seconds I'll just demonstrate the capture screenshot here what you can do is you can go ahead and drag and select the area that you want to capture once you have that you'll actually be able to even draw within this so if I just want to point to it we will have the AI automatically generate what the bug is again accurately the AI was able to determine that the button is cut off in the layout bug example similarly you can go ahead create and copy this again you'll be able to see everything within here and at any time you can go back to your dashboard and you can also sort these as well and put them within whatever folder you'd like now this isn't isolated just to your Chrome browser so you can actually record your entire desktop as well say if you have a console and you want to show those bugs to the AI you'll be able to record your desktop you can also record the tab but the cool thing with this is I can also allow it to record my voice if I just say allow while visiting the site and if I go back here I can select my microphone I'm recording while I'm demonstrating this but what you can do with this is the information that you speak into the recording that will also feed into both the recording that the user can see but you can also feed that information to the AI to give further context on how this all works finally if you're just going through and capturing a number of different bugs the nice thing with Jam is it allows you to create all of these different drafts that you can go ahead and revisit before you actually have them all within your workspace at any point you can go to your unfinished drafts you can click that button and you can go and drag this to whatever folder as well to keep everything nice and organized otherwise that's pretty much it for this video I encourage you to go out and try Jam this is honestly probably one of the nicest bug reporting tools that I've used and I've used a ton of them over my career I really encourage you to check them out otherwise if you found this video useful please comment share and subscribe otherwise until the next one
