OpenCode error

OpenCode: undefined: The provided model identifier is invalid

Error message
undefined: The provided model identifier is invalid.

Status: Fixed in releaseLast verified 1 documented fix3 sources

What it means

Amazon Bedrock rejected the model ID OpenCode sent. In #11037 the request URL showed us.us.anthropic.claude-sonnet-4-5-20250929-v1:0, with the region prefix added twice.

Causes

  • OpenCode added a region prefix to cross-region inference model IDs that already had one. A maintainer: "the us.us. in the URL shows the region prefix was being added twice."

How to fix it

  1. Fix 1.

Update to v1.1.51 or later. The maintainer: "This was already fixed in v1.1.51 (commit b942e0b - "fix: prevent double-prefixing of Bedrock cross-region inference models")". The fix checks for us., eu., jp., apac. and au. before adding a prefix. The maintainer gave these update commands (the npm package is opencode-ai).

    Terminal
    npm install -g opencode-ai@latest
    # or
    bun install -g opencode-ai@latest
