Steps
- Step 1.
Sign in to the Moonshot platform and create an API key in account settings.
- Step 2.
Open Cline settings.
- Step 3.
Select Moonshot from API Provider and paste your key in the matching credential field.
- Step 4.
In Moonshot Entrypoint, choose api.moonshot.ai (the international endpoint that matches platform.kimi.ai keys).
- Step 5.
Choose a model from Model, for example kimi-k3.
Caveats
- The Cline docs page gives only the generic three-step flow. The Moonshot Entrypoint dropdown (api.moonshot.ai / api.moonshot.cn), the default model kimi-k3, the base URL https://api.moonshot.ai/v1 and MOONSHOT_API_KEY come from the official cline/cline repo (MoonshotProvider.tsx and sdk/packages/llms/src/providers/providers.generated.ts, read 2026-10-17).
- Kimi's docs say keys created on platform.kimi.ai only work with https://api.moonshot.ai/v1, so leave the entrypoint on api.moonshot.ai unless your key is from platform.moonshot.cn.
