Steps

  1. Step 1.

Sign in to xAI platform and generate an API key (xAI console: https://console.x.ai/team/default/api-keys).

  2. Step 2.

    Open Cline settings.

  3. Step 3.

Select xAI (Grok) from API Provider.

  4. Step 4.

Paste your API key in the matching credential field.

  5. Step 5.

Choose a model from Model (for example grok-4.7, xAI's current recommended model for code).

Caveats

  • Cline's doc page does not list model ids; the ids here come from docs.x.ai/developers/models and what the Model dropdown shows depends on your Cline version.
  • The docs.cline.bot/provider-config/xai-grok URL now redirects to the shared 'Other 30+ Providers' page.
