OpenAI Codex CLI error
Codex CLI: To use Codex with your ChatGPT plan, upgrade to Plus...
To use Codex with your ChatGPT plan, upgrade to Plus: https://chatgpt.com/explore/plus.Status: Fixed in releaseLast verified 1 documented fix4 sources
What it means
Codex believes your signed-in ChatGPT plan does not include Codex. Older builds linked to https://openai.com/chatgpt/pricing. Paid users seeing it were hitting a misreported plan.
Causes
- Maintainer etraut-openai (#2330): Codex used the plan encoded in the cached access token, which can be out of date if you change plans.
How to fix it
- Fix 1.
Upgrade to 0.66.0 or later: PR #7610 reads the plan type from the usage endpoint instead of the auth token, so it is always fresh.
