Google SDKs - 10 languages recorded

Google SDKs by language

Google ships official SDKs for Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, C#, Swift and Kotlin. Its docs list no SDK for Ruby, PHP and Rust.

The same Google Gen AI SDK packages serve both the Gemini Developer API and Vertex AI. The old Vertex URL (cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/generative-ai/docs/sdks/overview) now redirects to the 'Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform' docs: 'The Google Gen AI SDK provides a unified interface to Gemini models through both the Gemini Developer API and the Gemini API on Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.'

Verified against each provider's own SDK docs and package registry pages. Status labels are the provider's own; no version numbers are recorded.

Google's SDK docs: ai.google.dev/gemini-api/docs/libraries. Compare every provider in the SDK grid.

Official
the provider's own SDK.
Beta
the provider's own SDK, which it labels beta (Fireworks AI says alpha).
OpenAI SDK
the provider's docs point to the OpenAI SDK for this language.
Community
a library the provider's docs link but do not ship. Not official.
None
the provider's SDK docs list no SDK for this language.

Swift

Official SDK

Firebase AI Logic, not the Gen AI SDK. Google points Swift developers to Firebase AI Logic, which needs a Firebase project.

Package
FirebaseAILogic (in firebase-ios-sdk)
Install
Install
In Xcode: File > Add Package Dependencies, add https://github.com/firebase/firebase-ios-sdk and choose the FirebaseAILogic library
Repo
github.com/firebase/firebase-ios-sdk
Docs
firebase.google.com/docs/ai-logic/get-started
Notes
Not the Gen AI SDK: Google points Swift developers to Firebase AI Logic, a Google-owned client SDK for calling the Gemini API from apps (requires a Firebase project). Install text paraphrases the Firebase steps; Firebase says 'The library is included as part of the Firebase SDK for Apple platforms (firebase-ios-sdk).'

Kotlin

Official SDK

Firebase AI Logic, not the Gen AI SDK. Google points Android developers to Firebase AI Logic, which needs a Firebase project.

Package
com.google.firebase:firebase-ai
Install
Install
implementation("com.google.firebase:firebase-ai")
Docs

Notes
Not the Gen AI SDK: Google points Android developers to Firebase AI Logic ('The Firebase AI Logic SDK for Android (firebase-ai) provides access to the APIs for interacting with Gemini models.'). Firebase recommends adding it via the Firebase Android BoM. The Gen AI Java SDK (com.google.genai:google-genai) also runs on the JVM, but Google's docs do not position it for Kotlin.
