Google

Official SDK

Firebase AI Logic, not the Gen AI SDK. Google points Android developers to Firebase AI Logic, which needs a Firebase project.

Notes
Not the Gen AI SDK: Google points Android developers to Firebase AI Logic ('The Firebase AI Logic SDK for Android (firebase-ai) provides access to the APIs for interacting with Gemini models.'). Firebase recommends adding it via the Firebase Android BoM. The Gen AI Java SDK (com.google.genai:google-genai) also runs on the JVM, but Google's docs do not position it for Kotlin.
