Cline error
Cline: API Request Failed
API Request Failed
Ollama request timed out after 30 secondsStatus: Fixed in releaseLast verified 2 documented fixes5 sources
What it means
Ollama did not start responding before Cline's request timeout, so the request was aborted.
Causes
- A 30-second Ollama timeout introduced around 3.12, too short for slower models or hardware (contributor suvarchal acknowledged the value was too small).
- Cold model loads taking longer than the response-start timeout.
How to fix it
- Fix 1.
Update Cline: 3.13.2 "Fix Ollama provider timeout, allowing for a larger loading time"; 3.14.0 makes the API request timeout configurable in settings for OpenRouter/Cline and Ollama; 4.1.3 raises the response-start timeout to 5 minutes.
- Fix 2.
Docs: make sure Ollama is running, verify
http://localhost:11434, and if the model is missing run ollama pull.Terminalollama pull <model-name>
