Notes and caveats
- One of roughly 70 Google Cloud remote MCP servers listed on the Supported products page.
- The server is enabled with the BigQuery API and needs the MCP Tool User role (roles/mcp.toolUser), plus BigQuery Job User and BigQuery Data Viewer to run queries.
- Billing is optional because the BigQuery sandbox works.
- OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/bigquery.
- Google remote servers do not support OAuth dynamic client registration, so Claude, Cursor and VS Code need a Google OAuth client ID and secret or an ADC bearer token.
- Google documents client steps in prose rather than per-server snippets.
- Tool descriptions are short summaries of the reference table.
