create_environment- Create a new 1Password Environment in a specified account.
rename_environment- Rename a 1Password Environment in a specified account.
create_local_env_file- Create a locally mounted .env file for an Environment that makes secrets available on demand without writing them to disk.
list_environments- Read-only. List all 1Password Environments in a specified account.
list_variables- Read-only. Retrieve the environment variable names stored in a 1Password Environment.
list_local_env_files- Read-only. List all locally mounted .env files from a 1Password Environment.

Notes and caveats
- Requires the 1Password desktop app; turn it on under Settings > Developer > Integrate with MCP clients.
- The Claude Code and Cursor plugins are labelled Beta and the Kiro plugin is in beta.
- Auth is a per-Environment approval prompt in the desktop app (no API key). stdio-only; remote-only MCP clients are not supported.
- Codex support is Mac and Linux only; the Codex value is the documented 'Command to launch' entry.
- Cursor install is through the 1Password plugin in the Cursor plugin marketplace (no JSON snippet). 1Password Enterprise Password Manager admins can toggle it under Policies > Agentic permissions > Local MCP server.
- Closed source, shipped inside the desktop app.
