Notes and caveats

  • Requires a Deel account with API access enabled.
  • OAuth2 is recommended (Cursor, VS Code, Claude Desktop and ChatGPT handle the flow); clients without OAuth can pass a personal access token as a Bearer header.
  • Access tokens are valid for 1 hour.
  • Tools come in organization, worker and public permission levels; the tools reference lists roughly 90 tools.
  • The Deel docs homepage teaser shows different snake_case tool names (org_person_list, contract_list) than the tools reference page, so names may be changing.
  • Docs give no beta/GA label and no Claude Code or Codex snippet (Claude Desktop config is documented).
  • Deel separately runs a documentation-search MCP server at https://developer.deel.com/_mcp/server for its developer docs.
