Notes and caveats
- Storybook labels its AI capabilities as preview; the API may change.
- The server runs locally at
http://localhost:6006/mcp(port may differ) while the Storybook dev server is running; the endpoint path is configurable via the addon's endpoint option. - The docs toolset needs the componentsManifest feature, which is generated today only by React frameworks, @storybook/angular-vite and @storybook/vue3-vite.
- The former storybookjs/mcp monorepo moved into storybookjs/storybook (code/addons/mcp) as of Storybook v10.6.0.
- Docs show only the npx mcp-add command, not per-client snippets.
