Notes and caveats

  • Blender Lab project (Blender Foundation's experimental innovation space); no beta/GA label is used.
  • Requires Blender 5.1 or newer plus the MCP add-on (v1.0.3, released 2026-09-11).
  • Installed from source with uv or as an .mcpb bundle from the release page; no npm/PyPI package.
  • Streamable HTTP is available via '--transport http --port 9191' (documented for llama.cpp).
  • Vendor security warning: the server executes LLM-generated code in Blender without guards; a VM or isolated system is recommended.
  • Windows config uses C:\\blender_mcp\\mcp as the directory.
