Notes and caveats

  • Not available in LaunchDarkly federal or EU instances; those use the local MCP server.
  • The server page lists 170 tools, including query-traces and search-docs; several factory-* tools are deprecated in favor of release-autopilot-* tools.
  • The account you authorize needs create, read, update and delete permission on flags and AgentControl configs (Writer base role or the LaunchDarkly Developer preset role recommended).
  • The generic snippet is the documented replacement config for migrating from the older npx-based local server.
  • VS Code is documented only as an install-page deeplink.
  • There is no public source repo for the hosted server; the docs point to launchdarkly/mcp-server for issues.
