Notes and caveats
- OAuth 2.0 is available on the remote server by switching the endpoint to https://mcp.context7.com/mcp/oauth; stdio connections use an API key.
- An API key raises rate limits and enables private repositories.
- Context7 also offers a Codex plugin (codex plugin marketplace add upstash/context7) and a VS Code extension (Upstash.context7-mcp), plus an on-premise enterprise edition.
- Docs give no beta/GA label.
