  3. Step 3.

Choose Base URL (region): International: https://api.minimax.io/v1 ; China (Mainland): https://api.minimaxi.com/v1

  4. Step 4.

Enter your API key in "MiniMax API Key".

  5. Step 5.

Select a model from the dropdown (Roo Code's default is MiniMax-M2.7).

Optional: adjust Temperature and Max Output Tokens in model settings.

Caveats

  • Roo Code's docs page does not list model ids; the ids and the default (minimaxDefaultModelId = "MiniMax-M2.7") come from Roo Code's official repo (packages/types/src/providers/minimax.ts).
  • Roo Code's model list also contains MiniMax-M2, MiniMax-M2-Stable, MiniMax-M2.1 and MiniMax-M2.1-highspeed; MiniMax lists M2.1 and M2 as retired, so avoid them.
  • MiniMax-M3 and MiniMax-M3.1-Flash-Preview are not in Roo Code's hardcoded MiniMax model list as of today.
