Steps

  1. Step 1.

Get your API key from the MiniMax Platform (https://platform.minimax.io).

  2. Step 2.

    Add MiniMax to config.yaml.

    YAML
    name: My Config
    version: 0.0.1
    schema: v1

    models:
      - name: MiniMax M2.7
        provider: minimax
        model: MiniMax-M2.7
        apiKey: <YOUR_MINIMAX_API_KEY>
  3. Step 3.

Alternatively set the MINIMAX_API_KEY environment variable instead of apiKey. For users in China, set apiBase to https://api.minimaxi.com/v1/

    Terminal
    export MINIMAX_API_KEY=<YOUR_MINIMAX_API_KEY>

Caveats

  • The live page https://docs.continue.dev/customize/model-providers/more/minimax returned 404 today even though the Continue providers overview links to it; steps are taken from the same page's source in Continue's official repo (docs/customize/model-providers/more/minimax.mdx) and the provider implementation core/llm/llms/MiniMax.ts.
  • Continue's provider clamps temperature into (0.0, 1.0] and strips response_format before sending to MiniMax.
  • Continue's docs list only M2.7 / M2.5 variants; newer MiniMax-M3 is on MiniMax's list but not in Continue's docs.
