NotebookLM
Google's AI notebook that lets you ground a Gemini chat in your own uploaded sources. Generates summaries, mind maps, and podcast-style audio overviews.
NotebookLM is Google's AI notebook that constrains a Gemini model to a set of sources you upload (PDFs, Google Docs, YouTube transcripts, pasted text). The model can only answer from those sources and cites the specific passages it used, which makes it dramatically less prone to hallucination than a general chatbot. The killer feature is the podcast-style audio overview: two synthetic hosts discuss your materials in a surprisingly natural back-and-forth, useful for reviewing a paper or a long document on a commute. NotebookLM is free with a Google account and has become a quiet favorite for researchers, students, and anyone who needs to get up to speed on a specific document set without wading through it manually.
