Notes and caveats
- Must be enabled once per account in the Algolia dashboard (Generative AI > MCP Servers > Productivity); each user then signs in with their own Algolia login, and disabling it stops connected workflows immediately.
- Read-only: cannot create, update or delete indices, records or settings.
- No OAuth client ID or secret needed.
- ChatGPT gets two extra tools, search and fetch.
- Also listed in the Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor marketplaces.
- Algolia-managed hosted service with no public source repo.
- Algolia is a search-as-a-service product for your own indices, not a web search product.
- No explicit beta or GA label.
