Notes and caveats

  • EU residency customers use https://mcp.eu.amplitude.com/mcp.
  • Append ?discovery=progressive to the URL for progressive tool discovery (not available in ChatGPT, which gets a curated subset of about 25 tools without session replay).
  • User auth is OAuth 2.0; Enterprise orgs with MCP access can also use MCP service accounts (OAuth client credentials, token sent as an Authorization Bearer header, currently read-only).
  • Enabled by default for all users; org admins can restrict it and scope read and write access per project with the Use MCP (read) and Use MCP (write) RBAC actions.
  • Not an event ingestion endpoint.
  • Official open-source skills plugin at github.com/amplitude/mcp-marketplace (skills, not the server).
