Notes and caveats
- Remote OAuth is the recommended setup.
- Header auth (Authorization: Bearer PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN plus x-axiom-org-id) works for clients without browser OAuth.
- The hosted server runs in the US, so query results route through US infrastructure.
- Use the legacy SSE endpoint https://mcp.axiom.co/sse only for clients without Streamable HTTP.
- Service map tools need service map enabled for your organization.
- MCP prompts work only with the remote server.
- Axiom docs also show a local install (go install github.com/axiomhq/axiom-mcp@latest) that authenticates with an API token.
- That path now redirects to axiomhq/mcp-server-axiom, which is marked deprecated in favor of https://mcp.axiom.co and was archived on 2026-03-02 (MIT).
- The registry lists the repo github.com/axiomhq/mcp, but it returned 404 on 2026-10-17.
- The docs do not call the server beta or GA.
