DigitalOcean MCP servers

Hosted remote MCP servers (one per service plus a single MCP Router endpoint) and a local npm server that let agents manage DigitalOcean resources such as App Platform, Droplets, Kubernetes, Databases, Spaces, networking, and AI platform services via the DigitalOcean API. The router exposes search_tools and invoke_tool to reach every first-party service through one URL. DigitalOcean hosts it at https://mcp.digitalocean.com/mcp, or you can run @digitalocean/mcp (npm) locally with OAuth or API key auth.

Notes and caveats

  • The MCP Router (https://mcp.digitalocean.com/mcp) is the recommended endpoint and fronts every per-service server (apps, doks, droplets, databases, spaces, networking, functions, docr, volumes, nfs, accounts, insights, marketplace, GenAI services, docs, and others) except Knowledge Bases (https://kbaas.do-ai.run/v1/mcp), which you connect to directly.
  • OAuth is recommended; an API token can be sent as an Authorization: Bearer header (remote) or DIGITALOCEAN_API_TOKEN env var (local).
  • The Documentation server needs no token.
  • Local server: npx -y @digitalocean/mcp --services apps (Node 18+).
  • Install snippets for Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code come from the official digitalocean-labs README; the docs page itself says to add remote servers in Claude as a custom connector.
  • No beta/GA label in the docs.
  • Repo lives under the digitalocean-labs GitHub org.
