Cloud and hosting - official Firebase (Google) server

Firebase MCP server

Local MCP server shipped in the Firebase CLI that lets AI tools create and manage Firebase projects and apps, work with Auth users, Firestore, Realtime Database, SQL Connect, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging and deploys, and read Firebase documentation resources. It runs locally from firebase-tools (npm); the notes below cover how it authenticates.

Notes and caveats

  • Runs with the same credentials as the Firebase CLI (a logged-in user or Application Default Credentials); requires Node.js and npm.
  • Optional flags: --dir to set the project directory and --only to limit feature groups.
  • Also ships prompts (e.g. firebase:init, firebase:deploy) and documentation resources.
  • Claude Code alternative: the official plugin (claude plugin marketplace add firebase/firebase-tools, then claude plugin install firebase@firebase); Cursor also has a Marketplace plugin and one-click install.
  • Codex is not documented.
  • The docs page carries no preview or GA label.
  • The registryHints for this vendor (androidmanagement, bigtableadmin, composer googleapis.com endpoints) are Google Cloud API MCP servers, not Firebase products, and were not included.
