Notes and caveats
- Docs say "most of the following commands and their subcommands are supported"; tool names are only given as examples.
- The fly mcp server command also accepts --cursor, --neovim, --vscode, --windsurf, --zed or --config <path> to write client config.
- Auth comes from the flyctl login session locally; when run remotely with --sse or --stream, tokens come from the request bearer token, --access-token, or FLY_ACCESS_TOKEN.
- Fly warns that running it remotely can let others run commands on your behalf; default bind is 127.0.0.1.
- Separately, fly mcp launch helps deploy third-party MCP servers onto Fly Machines (hosting, not a vendor MCP server).
