Notes and caveats

  • Available on all monday.com plans at no extra cost for admins and members; viewers have no MCP access and guests only on Enterprise if an admin enables it.
  • Admins can disable it under Admin > Permissions > AI Connectors; clients outside the pre-approved list need admin approval via Dynamic Connectors.
  • The hosted server uses OAuth; the local npm server and advanced hosted setups use a monday.com API token (MONDAY_TOKEN or an Authorization header).
  • The SSE endpoint https://mcp.monday.com/sse is documented as deprecated and unsupported (one support article still lists it); use Streamable HTTP at /mcp.
  • MCP tool calls count toward the account's daily API call limit.
  • The developer docs say the generic remote JSON config works for Claude Code and VS Code but give no client-specific command.
  • Dynamic API tools are labelled beta in the repo README.
