Notes and caveats

  • Requires a Business, Enterprise, or Advanced Work Management plan.
  • Regional endpoints: US https://mcp.smartsheet.com, EU https://mcp.smartsheet.eu, AU https://mcp.smartsheet.au.
  • OAuth is used by ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Desktop, Gemini Enterprise Plus and Microsoft 365 Copilot; other clients use a Smartsheet API token as a Bearer header.
  • Codex is configured through its Settings UI (Streamable HTTP URL plus bearer token env var), so no command snippet.
  • The generic snippet is the vendor's example from the manual configuration page (shown for Gemini CLI settings.json).
  • Tools are subject to Smartsheet API rate limits and each requires specific OAuth scopes.
  • The earlier open-source smartsheet-platform/smar-mcp repo is deprecated in favor of this hosted server.
