Notes and caveats
- Available on all paid WordPress.com plans.
- Free sites get MCP access for the first 30 days after creation.
- Jetpack-connected self-hosted sites need a Jetpack AI or Jetpack Complete plan.
- MCP must first be enabled in WordPress.com account settings.
- Auth is OAuth 2.1 (PKCE, dynamic client registration).
- After the Claude Code add, run /mcp to authenticate; for Codex, run codex mcp login wpcom-mcp to authenticate manually.
- The Cursor install is a Cursor Marketplace plugin command.
- Claude Desktop and ChatGPT connect through their own directories or plugins.
- Write operations need user_confirmed: true.
- Which tools appear depends on plan, permissions and account tool settings.
