Steps

  1. Step 1.

Download and install Cursor from the Cursor website.

  2. Step 2.

In Cursor, click the settings icon and go to Cursor Settings > Models. Enable OpenAI API Key and Override OpenAI Base URL, then enter the API Key, Base URL, and model name for your plan.

  3. Step 3.

Pay-as-you-go values: API Key = your Model Studio API key; Base URL by region (replace {WorkspaceId}).

    Snippet
    China (Beijing): https://{WorkspaceId}.cn-beijing.maas.aliyuncs.com/compatible-mode/v1
    Singapore: https://{WorkspaceId}.ap-southeast-1.maas.aliyuncs.com/compatible-mode/v1
    US (Virginia): https://{WorkspaceId}.us-east-1.maas.aliyuncs.com/compatible-mode/v1
  4. Step 4.

Coding Plan values: API Key = Coding Plan dedicated key; Base URL below; models from the Coding Plan list (kimi-k2.5 written as kimi-k2-5, glm-5 as glm-5-0).

    Snippet
    https://coding-intl.dashscope.aliyuncs.com/v1
  5. Step 5.

Token Plan (Personal or Team) values: Base URL below with the Token Plan dedicated key.

    Snippet
    https://token-plan.ap-southeast-1.maas.aliyuncs.com/compatible-mode/v1
  6. Step 6.

In the chat panel, turn off Auto mode, then pick the added model from the model dropdown.

Caveats

  • The free version of Cursor only supports Auto mode; errors "The model xxx does not work with your current plan or api key." or "Named models unavailable Free plans can only use Auto." mean you need Cursor Pro or a higher plan.
  • Some model names clash with Cursor's built-in names and need aliases: kimi-k2.6 -> kimi-k2-6, kimi-k2.5 -> kimi-k2-5, glm-5.3 -> glm-5-3, glm-5.2 -> glm-5-2, glm-5.1 -> glm-5-1, glm-5 -> glm-5-0.
  • "We're having trouble connecting to the model provider." or "Unauthorized User API key" usually means the key, base URL and model name come from different plans.
  • The Cursor page links to the OpenAI-compatible supported-models list rather than naming Qwen ids; the ids listed here come from the Model Studio Coding Plan, Codex and Kilo pages for the same OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
