Notes and caveats
- Hosted only, no public repo or package.
- Cloud release notes list the MCP server as GA in the April 2026 highlights on Basic, Standard and Advanced; Codex client support (June 2026) and the OAuth apps page for MCP redirect URLs (May 2026, Advanced only) are labelled Preview.
- OAuth is recommended; the API key option uses a service account key sent as an Authorization: Bearer header.
- The user or service account needs the Cluster Admin, Cluster Operator or Cluster Data Accessor role.
- Custom OAuth clients may need their redirect URL allowlisted by an Organization Admin.
- Limits: one SQL statement per call, 20 second query timeout, 10 KiB responses, default LIMIT 25 rows (max 10,000), and no access to system, crdb_internal, pg_catalog, information_schema or pg_extension schemas.
- Docs also give Cline config and a Cloud Console one-click install for Cursor and GitHub Copilot.
