Notes and caveats
- Dropbox labels it an open beta ('This article applies to customers in an open beta and is generally available.
- Betas are subject to additional terms').
- Dynamic Client Registration is supported only for Claude Code, Claude Web, ChatGPT Codex, ChatGPT Web and Cursor; other clients need a Dropbox app (App Console) with scoped permissions and redirect URIs.
- Paper tools currently work only with Claude Code, Cursor and Codex.
- Dropbox Sign tools are documented on a separate help page.
- Admins may restrict app connections.
- Doc page last updated Sep 30, 2026; the docs list 25 file tools plus Sign and Paper tool groups (15 shown).
