Observability - official New Relic server
New Relic MCP server
Hosted MCP server that lets AI agents query and analyze New Relic observability data, including entities, NRQL queries, alerts, errors, logs, synthetics and performance metrics. Access is governed by the connected user's New Relic RBAC permissions. New Relic hosts it at https://mcp.newrelic.com/mcp/ with OAuth or API key auth.

execute_nrql_query- Execute an NRQL query against NRDB.
natural_language_to_nrql_query- Convert a natural language request into an NRQL query, execute it, and return results.
get_entity- Fetch New Relic entities by GUID or search by name pattern.
list_related_entities- List entities 1 hop away (related) from a given entity GUID.
list_dashboards- List all dashboards for a New Relic account.
list_alert_policies- List alert policies for the specified account, optionally filtering by policy name.
list_recent_issues- Lists all open issues in New Relic for the specified account.
search_incident- List all alert events (both open and close events) with flexible filtering.
list_synthetic_monitors- List all synthetic monitors.
analyze_deployment_impact- Analyze the performance impact of a deployment on a specific entity.
generate_alert_insights_report- Generate an alert intelligence analysis report for a specific issue.
list_entity_error_groups- Fetch error groups for a specific entity from the Errors Inbox within a time window.
analyze_golden_metrics- Analyze golden metrics: throughput, response time, error rate, and saturation.
analyze_transactions- Analyze transactions for an entity, identifying slow and error-prone transactions including P95 and P99 latency.
list_recent_logs- List recent logs for the specified account and entity GUID.
As documented on October 17, 2026. A running server reports its current list through tools/list.
Notes and caveats
- Launched in public preview on 2025-11-04; the current tool reference describes the server as at GA, with search_traces, analyze_trace_anomaly and analyze_service_dependencies offered as preview tools.
- Regional endpoints: EU https://mcp.eu.newrelic.com/mcp/, JP https://mcp.jp.newrelic.com/mcp/.
- OAuth is the documented method for most clients; a User API key (NRAK-) sent in an api-key header works only where stated (for example Antigravity CLI), and several AI-powered and preview tools are OAuth-only.
- An admin must have the New Relic MCP Server and Local Clients toggles on in feature control manager (on by default).
- Rate limit 2,000 tool calls per hour per user.
- Most tools bill as Core Compute Units; four AI analysis tools bill as Advanced CCUs and require the Advanced Compute add-on.
- Claude Code OAuth needs version 2.1.186 or later; Codex OAuth needs 0.154.0 or later.
- The generic snippet is the documented Claude Desktop config via mcp-remote.
- Docs render shell commands with a leading prompt symbol, removed here.
More MCP servers for observability
- ArizeStatus: Preview
Arize AX MCP server
Hosted MCP server that gives agents access to Arize AX projects, traces, spans, datasets, experiments, evaluators, monitors and prompts. It is a thin layer over the Arize REST API v2.
Transport: Streamable HTTPAuth: OAuth or API key - ArizeStatus: GA
Phoenix MCP server
Local npm-distributed MCP server for Arize Phoenix that connects to a Phoenix instance with a base URL and API key. Covers projects, traces, spans, sessions, annotation configs, prompts, datasets and experiments.
Transport: stdioAuth: API key - ArizeStatus: Beta
Phoenix Remote MCP server
MCP server built into Arize Phoenix at the /mcp path of any Phoenix instance, letting agents read and act on traces, spans, datasets, experiments and prompts through Phoenix's REST API, plus read-only SQL and GraphQL queries. By default it exposes code-mode tools that search the operation catalog and run sandboxed Python that chains operations.
Transport: Streamable HTTPAuth: OAuth or API key - AWS
AWS Labs CloudWatch MCP server
Open source local MCP server from AWS Labs that gives troubleshooting agents access to CloudWatch metrics, alarms and Logs Insights for root cause analysis.
Transport: stdioAuth: Other - Axiom
Axiom MCP server
Hosted MCP server that lets AI agents query Axiom event, trace and metrics data with APL and MPL, explore datasets, and manage dashboards, monitors and notifiers.
Transport: Streamable HTTP, SSEAuth: OAuth or API key - Better Stack
Better Stack MCP server
Hosted MCP server that connects AI assistants to Better Stack Incidents and Telemetry: on-call, incidents, uptime monitors, status pages, ClickHouse queries over logs, metrics, traces and errors, dashboards, and alerts.
Transport: Streamable HTTPAuth: OAuth or API key
