Notes and caveats

  • Hosted endpoint uses OAuth (data:read_write scope); the local npm stdio server (npx @doist/todoist-mcp) needs a TODOIST_API_KEY.
  • Todoist says connecting via the MCP server is available on all plans.
  • Repo was previously named Doist/todoist-ai; npm package was renamed to @doist/todoist-mcp (v13.6.0 published 2026-10-16).
  • Claude Code alternative: official plugin via '/plugin marketplace add doist/todoist-mcp' then '/plugin install todoist@doist'.
  • Codex is documented only through the ChatGPT Todoist plugin, so no Codex snippet.
  • The docs point to src/tools for the full tool list (40+ tools, including filters, labels, reminders, sections, workspaces, assignments and project templates); descriptions above are from the tool source.
  • Includes MCP Apps widgets.
