Notes and caveats

  • Requires a Zilliz Cloud account and API key (README env var is ZILLIZ_CLOUD_TOKEN for stdio, ZILLIZ_API_KEY in .env for HTTP mode).
  • Streamable HTTP mode is self-run locally (default http://localhost:8000/mcp); there is no vendor-hosted endpoint.
  • Last commit Aug 18, 2026.
  • The former docs URL docs.zilliz.com/docs/zilliz-mcp-server now redirects to the Zilliz Skill page, and Zilliz currently promotes a Claude Code skill and a CLI-based Claude Code plugin; treat maintenance status as uncertain.
  • A 'query' tool (scalar filter query) is also documented but omitted to stay within 15.
