Notes and caveats

  • Introduced in TeamCity 2026.1 (announced 2026-05-12).
  • The endpoint lives on each TeamCity server.
  • Auth is a TeamCity access token as a Bearer header (can be scoped per project or read-only) or PKCE OAuth, which inherits the user's full permissions.
  • Safe mode is the default: teamcity_pipeline_post and teamcity_pipeline_delete are unavailable and teamcity_rest_post can only queue personal builds until the teamcity.ai.mcp.braveMode.enabled internal property is set to true.
  • JetBrains notes the separate TeamCity CLI and its agent skill cover a broader set of tasks than the MCP tools.
