Notes and caveats

  • The endpoint is per site (for YouTrack Cloud, the instance name followed by .youtrack.cloud/mcp; YouTrack Server sites use their own public URL).
  • OAuth needs a YouTrack admin to enable automatic client registration via CIMD or to create an OAuth client manually; Dynamic Client Registration is not supported.
  • Clients that cannot do OAuth use a permanent token with YouTrack scope as a Bearer header.
  • The verified Claude connector needs YouTrack Cloud 2026.2.18687 or later on a *.youtrack.cloud address.
  • Query parameters tools, ignoreTools, customToolPackages and enableToolOutputSchema shape the tool list.
  • Tools can create and update data.
  • Custom MCP tools can be added through app packages.
  • The docs list 23 predefined tools.
