Databases - official Supabase server

Supabase MCP server

Hosted MCP server that lets an agent manage Supabase projects: list tables, run SQL and migrations, read logs and advisors, deploy Edge Functions, manage branches and search Supabase docs, with optional project scoping and read-only mode. Supabase hosts it at https://mcp.supabase.com/mcp, or you can run @supabase/mcp-server-supabase (npm) locally with OAuth or API key auth.

Notes and caveats

  • Default auth is OAuth with dynamic client registration (no personal access token needed); for CI, a scoped personal access token can be sent as an Authorization: Bearer header, and a manual OAuth app is supported for clients without dynamic registration.
  • URL parameters: read_only=true, project_ref=<id> (disables account tools), features=<groups>, skip_elicitations=<tools>.
  • Feature groups: docs, account, database, debugging, development, functions, branching (experimental, paid plan), storage (off by default).
  • Supabase CLI local development exposes the server at http://localhost:54321/mcp, and self-hosted Supabase offers a limited tool subset without OAuth 2.1.
  • The docs page uses an interactive configurator; only the Claude Code snippet was rendered statically, so other client snippets are left null.
  • Supabase warns about prompt-injection risk and advises against giving the server to end users.
